Buddha Statues: Garden Buddha Statues

Our fine line of Buddha statues represent the benevolence and kindness exemplified by the great teacher Siddharta Gautama Buddha, the kind Indian prince born to Queen Mayadevi and King Shudodhana. Buddha was later known as Shakyamuni Buddha. As young Buddha grew to understand the unhappiness and pain around him, he rebelled at the richness and comfort that life offered him, placing upon himself the great task of liberating one's soul to kindly ways that he felt would allow one to achieve oneness with nature. Buddha soon came to be known as the "Enlightened One" or 'Awakened One', someone who has awakened from the sleep of ignorance and sees things as they really are. He founded the Buddhist religion on which he brought about the principles of entering the path to liberation and enlightenment. Buddha taught the first Wheel of Dharma which include the Sutra of the Four Noble Truths. The second and third Wheels of Dharma which gave birth to the Mahayana included the Perfection of Wisdom Sutras and the Sutra Discriminating the Intention. In the Mahayana teaching, Buddha explains how to attain full enlightenment. Our fine line of Buddha statues are suitable for the garden and available in several attractive finishes where applicable.

Gautama Buddha gave much towards understanding the principle meaning behind life. Not only was he a great philosopher, but the religion he founded, Buddhism, preached the need to improve one's life by attaining the virtues of inner peace, love and wisdom.

Buddha did not leave a successor behind who carry forward his teachings but he did leave behind his teachings called Dharma and rules for the monks and nuns as a guide. Centuries later, his teachings were collected and written into a form called the Tripitaka. This included large collection of commentaries and traditions, mostly known as Sutras or discourses.
