Originally made in the 18th-century by Virginia colonists the Armillary was initially a utilitarian device designed to teach spherical astronomy.   By the end of the century it has become a decorative element for many to enjoy.   Our Williamsburg Pineapple Armillary is inspired by the decoration on an urn in the Colonial Williamsburg Governor's Palace gardens.  The pineapple design at the base this armillary offers an impressive addition to any garden, sunroom, conservatory or foyer.  Crafted of sand-cast aluminum.  Used with matching Williamsburg stands also available.
