Padre Pio Statues:Padre Pio of Pietrelcina was a well noted priest from San Giovanni, Rotunda, who received the stigmata. Many have compared him to the revered Saint Francis of Assisi who also received the stigmata but which was discovered only much later. It is thought that Padre Pio was the second person to have received the stigmata, the wounds of Christ which he sometimes chose to hide in his early days of priesthood for fear that he would not be accepted and mostly out of embarrassment. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina has been responsible for many miracles all across the world, he showed an immense love for everyone around him and listened and charmed the hearts of many. Although our catalog features only a small statue of the Padre, we plan to pay tribute to this great saint by bringing in more statues of Padre Pio over time. Padre Pio gave his time freely to anyone who listened and his words of wisdom also spoke of love, advice and the means to conduct oneself in life's sometimes tumultuous path. He also showed an extreme devotion to the Virgin Mary and Jesus.
